Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope finally dated, coming this October

Ubisoft’s strategy sequel finally has a release date. Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope brings the motley crew from the original back for more this fall.

*Unintelligible noises*

Mario has been on quite a few different adventures over the decades, often branching out from his standard ‘platforming’ quests. He’s had sports games, RPGs, karting, and most recently strategy.

Turn-based strategy became a welcome part of the Italian plumber’s repertoire thanks to Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. From Ubisoft, the launch game for the Switch teamed the Mushroom Kingdom crew up with Ubi’s insane rabbits for a solid campaign that nobody saw coming.

And now the sequel to that original title finally has a release date. Coming this fall is Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, which has a fair shake of fresh news this week. Not only do we have a launch date for it (October 20th), but we also have a special showcase to look froward to. Tomorrow will see the special air on YouTube, and it promises to be packed with M+R info.

You can check it out starting at 9am Pacific time tomorrow, via the player below.

Determined to consume all the energy in the galaxy, Cursa and its minions are hunting the Sparks, uncanny creatures formed by the fusion of Lumas & Rabbids, and will destroy all who stand in its way. Players will have to locate and save the Sparks to have them join the adventure, opening up new tactical possibilities to help Heroes get the upper hand in battles. In addition to leveling up and customizing their Heroes, players will have the opportunity to pair them with Sparks to unlock additional abilities! They all have a distinct power and personality, ranging from energy shields to powerful elemental attacks.

As they embark on an epic journey through the galaxy, players will get to explore a variety of planets, meet their curious inhabitants and complete one-of-a-kind quests to free them from Cursa’s evil influence. Familiar enemies from the Nintendo universe, exceptional Rabbids enemies and surprising bosses will cross the Heroes’ path.
