Stranger’s Wrath HD taking aim at Xbox and PlayStation consoles

There’s been an awful lot of Odd in the gaming universe as of late. And now there’s even more, with Stranger’s Wrath HD jumping to some new consoles.

That’s not that odd

As Oddworld Inhabitants points out, 2021 brought some serious ‘odd’ to consoles and the PC. The stunning Oddworld: Soulstorm Enhanced Edition arrived on the PC, as well as the PS5, PS4, and Xbox Series X/S. Then there was also Oddworld Collection which made its way to the Nintendo Switch.

But as we roll into the second month of 2022, the weirdness is showing no signs of slowing down. Oddworld Inhabitants has officially announced that 17 years after its original launch, Stranger’s Wrath HD is on the way to both Xbox and PlayStation platforms.

A sci-fi spin on the classic Western motif made popular by people like Sergio Leone and Clint Eastwood, you play as Stranger, a swaggering bounty hunter with a haunting secret on a Homeresque odyssey across the wastelands of Western Mudos.

Help Stranger track down fugitives for bounty by strategizing your approach and taking down the scoundrels and outlaws, either by bringing them in alive or giving them a one-way ticket to the pearly gates using “live” critter ammo. Either way, it is up to you how you want to collect the bounty because Stranger needs all the moolah he can earn, it may prove vital to his very existence.

Stranger’s Wrath HD features some 12 hours of campaign, as well as 5 hours of side-quests. It’s also got enhanced audio and 4K visuals, and “improved shadow maps”.

Stranger’s Wrath HD arrives on modern Xbox and PlayStation consoles on February 11th, 2022.
