Xbox Series X games showcase roundup

Late last week Microsoft spotlighted the first round of first-party titles coming to the Xbox Series X. It’s a list that includes Halo, Forza, and more.

Round ’em up

Those waiting on seeing some games for the upcoming Xbox Series X had their wishes granted last week, when Microsoft showed off a bunch of launch titles. Those included the aforementioned Halo Infinite and Forza, but also the cool looking Avowed, Psychonauts 2, Grounded and more.

There was also a new Fable shown, but only with a tease, and it’s unclear on whether or not it might be an MMO. That’s been hinted at here and there online.

In all though, fans got a look at 9 Xbox exclusives, along with 5 brand new announcements. There was also the news that all of the games shown would be launching day and date on Games Pass. That’s big news for those who subscribe, since you’ll get to play the entire opening day lineup without actually buying a game. Slick stuff.

Here’s the showcase, in brief:

Pretty easy to say that the crown jewel there is Halo Infinite, yet it’s a pretty solid lineup overall. I like the look of Avowed a ton, and I can’t resist a new Fable… unless it does turn out to be an MMO. Then I can definitely let that slide. It will be interesting to watch what happens there.

As for the console itself, the Xbox Series X launches this holiday season. No price or actual launch date has been revealed as of yet, so there’s plenty more to look for on this one as the weeks tick by.
