Need for Speed Heat launch trailer celebrates customs

The customization of cars is a big part of EA’s upcoming Need for Speed Heat, and the new launch trailer shines a spotlight on it.

Your ride is ready

Need for Speed Heat is almost ready to have gamers revving their engines for another go-around with the ling running franchise. But well before the eve of the game’s launch, there were already people creating custom vehicles for use in it.

The NfS Heat Studio was ground zero for that, an app that saw gamers designing new cars for the game. EA reports that most gamers spent almost a hal-hour, 24 minutes, in the app building new cars. More impressive though, is how many cars have been the result of that. That totals up to be some 2 million “unique customs”.

EA held a contest spinning out of the over 100k fans who partook in the app, and chose five fans to feature in the launch trailer. This little vid is the end result.

If you’re a fan, then you’ll also want to check out some addition YouTube channels for even more. Though they weren’t in the mix of fans to be picked for the above video, for obvious reasons, a bunch of big names and companies also made customs for NfS Heat.

Celebrities including French Montana, A$AP Ferg, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and partners at Aston Martin, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Polestar and Honda also joined in on the fun, so keep an eye on their channels to check out their custom rides.
