Mad Cave announces killer new comic, RV9

The world of assassins is always ripe for exploration, especially one who’s been forced back into the game. That’s the plot of RV9, Mad Cave’s newest.

Every time I think I’m out…

The assassin that left the “life” story isn’t exactly a new one. But as many times as it’s seen, it somehow doesn’t lose any of its luster. When done right, it can be a wild, action packed tale. That’s what publisher Mad Cave is hoping to get out of RV9.

RV9 follows former assassin, Velveteen, who is on the run from the Order of the 9, the organization that took her from her family and forced her into a life of secrecy, violence, and death. Now, after years of running, she is bringing the fight to them. With help from an American hacker, Jasper, and a rookie officer with an attitude, Inspector Pazzi, Velveteen will use everything she was taught by the Order of the 9 against them.

If you take a look at the imagery in the preview gallery below, you can see that this book is looking solid in terms of art. It actually looks almost Greg Capullo-ish, which is a big compliment. That’s thanks to the pencils of one Travis Mercer, who’s working with colorist María Santaolalla for RV9.

Their work will highlight the story by Ben Goldsmith, who’s crafted a narrative that takes place in a pretty unique place – Italy of 2055.

“I’ve always wanted to know how one of the deadliest assassins in the world would deal with love. RV9 is that story. It pits the future and technology against the past, selflessness versus self-preservation, and power vs the power of love. It has been an honor and privilege to work with Mad Cave on this book and I hope you all come along for the ride with Travis and myself.”

RV9 #1 (of 5) hits stands this November.
