LEGO DC Super Villains gets Batman: The Animated Series DLC

Celebrate Batman’s 80th with the new Batman: The Animated Series level and character pack for LEGO DC Super Villains. It’s out now.

The dark knight

Was this announced, or is it a surprise? I ask because I honestly can’t remember ever hearing about this new downloadable content for LEGO DC Super Villains.

Either way, it’s definitely cool, and a nice way to celebrate this year’s 80th anniversary for the Dark Knight in DC Comics. It’s actually pretty loaded too, with 7 new characters based on their appearances in the classic cartoon.

Those are:

Just a lil’ too happy in this shot
  • Batman
  • Phantasm
  • Man-Bat
  • The Mad Hatter
  • Joker
  • Harley Quinn

  • Captain Clown… ?

Yeah, I don’t know either. I’d have rather seen Riddler, Poison Ivy, Mister Freeze, CLayface, or any of a dozen other villains from the show. Instead, we got Captain Clown. Eh.

Not that it ruins anything really, since this is still a terrific piece of DLC, but I’m just saying… Captain Clown?!

All that and a city too

Of course, you’ll get a level in this pack as well. That’d be Gotham naturally. Specifically, a version based on the cartoon show’s depiction of the iconic city. Looks like you’ll be able to select any of the new characters to traverse the town too. Cool stuff.

The pack is out right now, and is included with the Season Pass. So if you have that, then you can download this for “free”. So… I guess it was previously announced then?

Anyway, of you don’t have the pass, the pack is $2.99 USD to buy a’la carte style.
