A fresh batch of screens, just released by Activision, shows off the difference between the original and the newly remade Crash Team Racing.
Revving the engines
The remake of Crash Team Racing is still a ways off, but Activision shared some comparison shots of the game today that fans will undoubtably want to check out.
If you don’t know, the upcoming release is a total remake of the PSOne original, released in 1999. Much like with Crash Bandicoot: The N.Sane Trilogy, the biggest difference between the two is the look.
Not a simple remaster, Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled looks as modern as any other game. It’s flat-out stunning looking, with all the big, colorful, cartoony graphics that you’d expect.
In the gallery below, you can get a real sense of what I mean. The difference is startling when compared with the original to be sure. But the game just looks great in general too, not just as a piece of nostalgia.
Developed by Beenox, the game is set to arrive this summer, on June 21st. And much like with the N.Sane Trilogy, it’ll be made available for the Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
No word on whether or not there might be a PC version coming up at some point.
