It’s not a sure thing, but it does indeed look like the “exclusivity” period for Microsoft might be ending as goes Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds.
Multiplayer mayhem
It wasn’t that long ago that PUBG was a big deal. The game was a multiplayer darling, capturing gamers’ attention with its large scale, multiplayer shooter style. It also wasn’t long before it was eclipsed almost completely by Fortnite. Though that’s another story.
Last Holiday (ish) the game arrived on the Xbox One, and to some fanfare too. It was exclusive and seemed as though it might stay that way. Fast forward one year though, and things are looking a bit different.
IGN is reporting that some have seen Battlegrounds listed on Sony’s servers. It’s a listing that included an ID code for a US and European version of the game, as well as imagery. This follows on the heels of the game appearing in a Korean rating website for the PS4, so there’s even more evidence for you.
It’s also some good timing, as there’s a Suicide Squad content drop coming for PUBG. The new DLC will include the ability to deck your character out in Harley Quinn or Joker costumes. That’s odd in and of itself, since the Suicide Squad movie isn’t all that relevant either at this point.
Nevertheless, it’s on the way, and it looks like PUBG is too. So PS4 gamers, will you be playing if and when it arrives?
