Ready for the Dark Souls: Remastered network test?

Dark Souls: Remastered isn’t far off now (for some consoles). Bandai Namco is about set to start the game’s network test on two of the biggest online platforms around, and we’ve got some details for you.

Online souls

Bandai Namco’s redux for the original Dark Souls is about ready to go. The game will be hitting thee PS4 and Xbox One, as well as the PC on May 25th. With the launch coming up that quickly, the publisher is just about set to launch into the first network test for the game’s online architecture.

The upcoming test will be set in the Undead Parish location, and will have players “summoning co-op partners or invade others’ games.”

Here are the full details, straight from Bandai Namco:

  • What: DARK SOULS: REMASTERED Network Test for PlayStation 4 system and Xbox One
  • When: May 11th and May 12th from 6:00pm PDT to 11:59pm PDT each day for the Americas
  • How: Download the DARK SOULS: REMASTERED Network Test client from May 1st through 11:59pm PDT on May 8th on PlayStation 4 system and Xbox One (Xbox Gold subscription required to participate) to be part of the test. At 11:59pm PDT on May 8th the network test client will be removed, and no new participants will be accepted.

Once again, you’ll note that there’s no mention of the Nintendo Switch version of the game. In case you missed it, that’s because that specific edition won’t be coming along till the end of the summer. I’m sure there’ll be another test at that point, focused on the Nintendo console.

Also very much worth mentioning, is that there’s probably no test for the PC version, since this version will be replacing the one that’s already on Steam. I assume that means everything for that is already in place.
