Captain America hits a new milestone with issue #700

Captain America is in for a while new world with issue #700, as Steve finishes up the far out “Out of Time” story arch.

King Captain America? Yeah that sounds a little… off. Nevertheless, it’s exactly what Cap is heading towards as Out of Time comes to it’s crashing conclusion.

The arc puts Steve in the far future, teamed with a group of new and old heroes tasked with a pretty big job. How big? How about restoring order and rebuilding civilization? While that might sound like a pretty “Cap” task, it’s the next part that doesn’t sound like the star-spangled Avenger we all know and love.

According to Marvel, Cap is set to “rule” as King Captain America.

“No dream, no hoax, no lie, this IS Cap and this IS happening!” said SVP and Executive Editor Tom Brevoort. “Guest-starring the Thing and the Hulk (or as much as is left of them), it’s a celebration of 700 issues of star-spangled adventure! Plus, Mark Waid delivers an untold tale from Captain America’s past, featuring the classic artwork of Jack Kirby!”

This is going to be a wild one. Watch for it on April the 4th.
