Get your first (real) look at Avengers: Infinity War

The culmination of a whole mess of Marvel movies, Avengers: Infinity War is poised to bring the MCU into a new era. And it looks incredible.

Gone is the silliness of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (as much as I liked it) and Thor Ragnarok. Infinity War is coming, and it certainly seems as though the directing team of  the Russo brothers are about to deliver a comic book movie epic.

I got to be a big fan of Anthony and Joe Russo after the excellent Captain America movies, so I have had some pretty high hopes for Infinity War. It’s both directly and indirectly what Marvel has been working towards since the very beginning of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s the peak of the mountain. And to finally see a glimpse of the finished product is pretty awesome.

In particular, it’s great to see Thanos in action at long last. He’s been teased since the first Avengers film after all. And even though he saw some screen-time in Guardians, it was really just a tease. Infinity War is Thanos at his most menacing and powerful, and it does an old school Infinity Gauntlet fan proud.

The third Avengers movie, the Russo brothers are set to helm one more for Disney before their time with Marvel is done. Let’s hope the entertainment giant resigns them for a few more

Because if this trailer is any indication, then Infinity War is going to one to remember. It hits theaters on May the 4th (sorry Star Wars).
