Landing on the PC and consoles, Vermintide 2 is set to follow on the heels of the original 4-player Warhammer romp early in 2018.
“Vermintide 2 is the evolution of the genre. If you liked the first game, you’ll love the second.” says Martin Wahlund, CEO of Fatshark, and continues “We have listened to the community, analyzed hours and hours of online playthroughs, and combined this with our passion for co-op games to bring you the very best experience possible.”
The Vermintide rolls on
The original Vermintide was pretty well-received. We covered the game extensively when it arrived a few years back, and with god reason. The four player co-op gameplay set in the Warhammer “Old World” was fast and fun with plenty of creep-outs thanks to the revolting Skaven. The rat-men were the starring enemies in that game, and it apparently worked well.
Now with the sequel, it’s both more of the same, and plenty of new inclusions. Vermintide 2 will feature “15 hero careers, new environments, talent trees and the proprietary Heroic Deeds System”, along with the same melee combat that rounded out the original. Opposing players? That’d be the dark forces of Chaos.
Missing the Holiday, but still coming up pretty fast, FatShark’s Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is set to arrive on both consoles and the PC early next year.
