No, not art books, Dark Horse is going all in on Nintendo’s ARMS with a series of upcoming graphic novels.
Wait, does ARMS even have a story?
So, I was under the impression that ARMS didn’t even really have a story behind it. I don’t think that’s a reach really either. The colorful fighter hit earlier this year for the Switch, and we liked it just fine. Thing is though, it really didn’t offer much of a background for its fast and fun fighting.
Maybe that’s the point here though, as Dark Horse could easily fill in a few of those blanks. Aside from publishing some excellent art tomes in partnership with Nintendo, the company is -primarily- a comic book maker after all. And that means that they know full well how to tell a quality story.
And before you say something about these being art books, please understand that Dark Horse went out of their way to call them “graphic novels”. So they’re apparently quite serious about making a narrative for ARMS here. Just don’t go looking for hints to what the might be right now, as it seems to be pretty tightly under wraps.
There’s a good reason for that too, since the ARMS titles are about a year out. Dark Horse says fans should expect them to start hitting shelves in the fall of 2018.
