Dawn of War III dated, hits the PC next month

The latest game in the Dawn of War series’, the third game is almost here for PC gamers. And if you pre-order yourself a copy now, you’ll get some nifty bonuses.

Dawn of War… again

All in all, Dawn of War III will be made available in three different editions. You can grab a copy in Collector’s, Limited, and of course – Standard flavors. And yes, the first two will arrive in physical form. They’ll come with some cool pack-ins too, so you just might want to order yourself a copy.

Physical games on the PC are novel enough after all. And what DoWIII is packing is set to be pretty attractive for fans of Games Workshop’s dark fantasy/sci-fi universe. Especially that Collector’s Edition, that thing’s nifty.

Here’s what’s included in the two special versions:

  • The Collector’s Edition will include a premium disc book, a lenticular art card, the official soundtrack, a replica of the Godsplitter Daemon Hammer, three mounted cloth faction banners and the Masters of War Skin Pack.
  • The Limited Edition will include the premium disc book, the lenticular art card and the official soundtrack.

Availability

Being that physical PC games are few and far between, you might imagine that the two special version of DoWIII won’t be available everywhere. And you know what? You’d be right. A quick search of the Best Buy and GameStop websites turned up nothing. Well at least, where I am in the US, it did. You might have different results if you’re in another part of the world, since Sega Europe says that there will be retailing partners for the release.

One surefire way to get the copy of your choice though, is to head to the game’s official website. There all three versions are available, with the Collector’s and Limited editions being shipped to you, and the Standard being a digital download via Steam.

The Collector’s, by the way, will run you $129.99 USD, while the Limited will cost $64.99. The Standard? That’s the usual for a new PC game, clocking in at $59.99 USD. Honestly, for just five bucks more, the Limited seems pretty worth it, if you’re a big fan.

Oh, and all the special skins that you see in the trailer above, can be had with a pre-order of any version by the way. So even if you go Standard, you’ll get to battle as the Dark Queen, the Ghost Seer, or the Big Kustom. Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War III lands on the PC on April 27th.
