Look out NHL, it is time for an old fashion comeback with Old Time Hockey. This retro-ish sports title features hockey from the days of the 8-bit arenas. Travel back to the days of old when Wayne Gretzky was scoring hat tricks on the Sega Genesis.
Break out the bell bottoms
Set in the 1970s, Old Time Hockey takes players through the bush league. These players are tough and nasty and love to fight. Safety is not an issue and helmets are not required. Look out for wicked right hooks along with slap shots, to the face. Fighting is back and better than ever. This is arcade hockey at its best.

Old Time Hockey is going to be a fun and unique adventure. “We also developed a hilarious story mode to wrap all the hijinks together. It’s a daring concept to incorporate narrative into a sports game but we think players will get a kick out of it,” says Director Karthik Venkateshan. That is not all that is being added to the game. Outside of the various controller schemes, one mode for the game is called “Beer Mode,” and allows players to play the game while holding a beer.
Inspiration for the game was taken from the 1980’s. “Everything from NHL 94, Blades of Steel, to other sports titles like NBA Jam and Tecmo Bowl inspired us. We wanted to recreate that old familiar experience of playing these games on the couch with friends.” says Venkateshan.
