Retro Bit has made the list of built-in games official for their new classic gaming console, the Retro Bit Generations.
The Retro Bit Generations, just in case you haven’t been following along, is a pretty neat little console. In many ways, it’s similar to what Sega leads their name to now, and what Nintendo will have with the NES Mini this Holiday. And in some ways, it’s better.
The console will have a set number of games built in, just like the above mentioned units (though it’ll have an SD card port too, for save-game transport). But whereas the retro consoles that are out there right now have 30-40 games, the Generations will have over 100. And unlike the former systems, it’ll have a pretty wide swath of titles.
How ‘wide’ are we talking here? Well, the Generations will apparently have games from the SNES, NES, and even the GameBoy on its roster. That’s pretty cool. However, not all of them are smashes, so don’t get too excited. For every Mr. Bloopy though (huh?), there are some excellent games here like R Type 3 and Super Ghouls and Ghosts. Good stuff right there.
As far as a release date goes, you can look for the Retro Bit Generations to hit shelves and online retailers this Fall. The system will cost you $59.99 USD.
