CoD’s zombies mode makes a triumphant return, and looks more steeped in story than what’s come before.
Nice and noir-packed right there. As a fan of 40s style detective stories and pulp comics to begin with, that little bit there hit all the right notes for me, and I haven’t really been the biggest fan of the CoD zombies sub-series in the past. That was mainly due to the fact that there was little to no story, even when all-star voice casts were included. This one feels a little different, although it also looks to have all the same undead-blasting action that you’d expect from what’s really become one of the best-loved aspects of the franchise.
Jeff Goldblum, Heather Graham, Neal McDonough, and Ron Perlman star in this latest installment, along with a shadowy figure known only as the Shadow Man (not the superhero either). Activision is promising “a massive 1940s, film noir-inspired world”, plenty of secrets to ferret out, and the “deepest” zombies experience yet, which all sounds pretty darn awesome.
Shipping right along with Call of Duty: Black Ops III (it’s on the disc, as usual), on November 16th.
