Super Smash Bros. for WiiU and 3DS ballot coming to a close

The fighter ballot for Super Smash Bros. for WiiU and 3DS is set to close on Oct. 3.

The ballot came around shortly after the WiiU version’s release and allowed people from all over to suggest their favorite characters for Nintendo’s smash up fighter.

A poll conducted in August on reddit declared Shantae the most wanted character for future downloads. The sample size is much smaller than the true amount of people voting in the real smash ballot.

While the end of the ballot means the end to have the community’s voice heard in an official style, it also offers the hope that Sakurai and co. will come to some final conclusions on who to put into the game.

Veteran fighters such as Snake and Wolf seem to be obvious front runners for the coveted roster spot, as well as iconic Nintendo characters such as King K. Rool. More popular contemporary characters  the community may want include Shovel Knight, a character whose argument is bolstered by the recent announcement of a Shovel Knight amiibo.

Personally, I think the Metroid series could use more representation, maybe a character that isn’t Samus.
