E3 2015: Prepare to die! Again! Dark Souls III confirmed for early 2016

Bandai Namco’s super hard series Dark Souls  is back for another outing.

“The DARK SOULS series has built a revered reputation placing it in the highest echelon of revered video game properties of all time,” said Chris Gilbert, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. “We are very excited to see Hidetaka Miyazaki and his talented team at FROMSOFTWARE working on DARK SOULS III.”

I don’t think that statement is too far from the truth as gamers tend to hold these games (and the offshoots of them in Bloodborne) in pretty high regard. Now of course, they’ll get to actually play a third entry in the series, as Dark Souls III hits consoles and the PC early next year.

Just announced (officially) at the Xbox press event for E3, Dark Souls III was rumored to be making an appearance at the convention, and Bandai Namco didn’t disappoint. Once again coming out of developer FromSoftware, DS3 will offer fans the same action/RPG gameplay that they’re used to, set in a “wide variety of locations in an interconnected world of unrelenting challenge and deep RPG gameplay as they search for a way to survive the coming apocalypse”. Cheery!

I kid of course, because good cheer isn’t what gamers are looking for from a Dark Souls title. Just the opposite in fact, and that’s just fine. Coming to the Xbox One, PS4, and Windows PC, you can expect to be dying again and again in the world of Dark Souls III early in 2016.
