For the first time ever, publisher Bethesda is holding their first ever presser. Yes, the first thing we thought of was Fallout 4.
There’s no factual evidence that Fallout 4 is on the way towards an announcement at this coming E3 in June. Now that that’s out of the way, it’s a pretty encouraging sign that there’s a massive announcement (or several) coming for the show since Bethesda has never hosted a press conference before. There aren’t a whole lot of publishers that do really.
Off the top of my head, and outside of Sony and Microsoft, I can think of Ubisoft, EA, Activision and… I think that’s it. Of course, now you can add Bethesda to that short list that doesn’t even count Nintendo on it. Pretty exclusive club, all told. So it’s really what’s making the group pull the trigger on a conference this year that’s got people thinking that it’s got to be a game of the caliber of Fallout 4.
There are a few games that could see detailing at a Bethesda presser, including the aforementioned. Personally, I’m hoping that we see more of the Doom reboot that was shown ever-so-briefly and exclusively at Quakecon last year. Other than those two, I imagine that there’d be more than a few gamers out there who’d love to hear something about further adventures in the worlds of The Elder Scrolls and Dishonored as well.
Again though, we know next to nothing about what may or may not be in the cards for the event. So basically, just mark your calendars, and we’ll let you know if anything leaks beforehand.
