Raptr’s most played in October has some new faces and old faves

Plenty of games still hanging around social gaming site Raptr’s ‘most played’ list of PC games for October, but there are a few big time newcomers as well.

Most of those newer games didn’t make it all that high on the list, but they’re already making an impact in their first month of release (October) to think that they might be on PC gamer’s regular rotation for a while. Both Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor arrived last month to place at 18 and 19 on the list respectively. Yes, that’s near the bottom, bit it’s both games first month of availability and it certainly stands to reason that they might be climbing that ranking hill in the months to come. Certainly, it looks like Borderlands might since the previous two games in the series did very well among the multiplayer faithful.

As for the top of the mountain though, that hasn’t changed a whole lot and probably won’t anytime soon. Counterstrike and DOTA are both still huge with gamers, as it World of Warcraft, which never seems to go away. And of course, at the very pinnacle is none other than League of Legends.

LoL is a veritable juggernaut, absorbing PC gamers’ time like there’s no tomorrow and it show no sign of slowing down. The only thing that might dethrone it is WoW and its Warlords of Draenor expansion pack, which is now live and running. It’ll be a another month till we see the fallout of that release though, since Raptr’s next report won’t hit till December. So sit tight and enjoy LoL, you’ve got another 30… at least.
