Destiny shows off multiplayer, is the most pre-ordered ‘new IP’ ever

Activision and Bungie’s Destiny looks like the multiplayer juggernaut that you probably assumed it would be in this new trailer showcasing the assortment of modes.

That checked off ill the boxes, no? If there’s one thing you can expect Bungie to have in their games, it’s great multiplayer; the Halo series has more than proved that time and again. I’m not even a multi fan, and I logged more hours in Halo 2 than I’d care to admit, which says a lot as far as I’m concerned.

In addition to the peek at the versus and co-op multi modes, Activision also shared a little piece of news that comes out of game mega-retailer GameStop, who says that Destiny is the most pre-ordered New IP in the company’s history.

Global retailer GameStop Senior Vice President of Merchandising, Bob Puzon, said, “With the launch of Activision’s Destiny just around the corner, our GameStop associates are working diligently to prepare for what is currently our highest pre-ordered new IP in history. Based on the consumer excitement we are encountering in our stores every day, Destiny is on track to deliver a tremendous gaming experience.”

Yep, this is gonna be a big one all right. Destiny lands on the PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC on September 9th, which is right around the corner now…
