Shadowgate racks up the player kills in new trailer

You know a game is going to be tough when there’s a trailer titled ‘Your Death’.

I have some fond memories of Shadowgate on the NES, so even though it looks like developer Zojoi isn’t going to be pulling any punches with their modern expansion and remake of the original, I’m still pretty pumped to play. No doubt about it, this is old school role-playing, just with a fresh coat of paint for the current PC gamer. If you’ve never tried a dungeon crawl like this one, I recommend it. It can be harsh and at times a bit unforgiving, but games like this are an art form unto themselves and can be a great time all around.

You’ll just be dying. A lot. So… patience is a virtue.

Shadowgate hits the PC and Mac via Steam on August 21st.
