Risen 3 goes back to where it all began

Deep Silver and Piranha Bytes’ latest Risen title goes all the way back to the original game and then some, with elements of the classic Gothic titles even making it into the new game.

Pretty neat there. Lots to see in this one from just about every corner of the information spectrum about Risen 3. We’re getting pretty close to launch now, and if you were wondering about something, that query has probably been answered with this ‘trailer’. The scope of it feels appropriately epic and I’m pretty surprised to hear that Gothic was mentioned too, there’s some serious points for that one.

It seems like Piranha Bytes is making this one something of an homage to what they’ve done before, while still breaking new ground for the series. The more I see of it, the better it looks, and this is actually shaping up to be one of the more impressive looking titles that’s on the way to ‘last-gen’ consoles, and the PC of course.

Risen 3: Titan Lords stomps on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC this August the 12th.
