Batman: Arkham Origins – Initiation Challenge Map Campaign released today

Fight as Bruce Wayne through a set of challenge rooms in a very Batmen Begins-esque new DLC offering for Batman: Arkham Origins.

Set high in the Paektu-San Mountains of North Korea, the Initiation Add-On follows a young Bruce Wayne as he faces his ultimate test. Players will embark upon a series of challenge maps that test their martial arts training across exotic locales, including a bamboo forest and a mountain top monastery. Fans will face fresh enemies along with an epic final test to prove their worthiness to Bruce’s greatest and most pitiless teacher, Kirigi.

Well this is even more origins than Origins. Not only will you get to play as ‘Initiation’ Bruce Wayne by the way, you’ll also get a special ‘vigilante’ Bruce skin to play with through the four challenge maps that make up this new ‘campaign’ for Arkham Origins. It looks like a ton of work went into this one and personally (as a huge Batman fan) I’d love to see more.

Our review of Arkham Origins is still incoming, but I wouldn’t mind seeing a real prequel game set way before the Bat made his first appearance. Maybe something that followed Bruce on his journey around the world and featuring all the various places he had to train and techniques he learned as he schooled himself towards donning the cape and cowl. Could be very cool.

In the meantime though, the Initiation Challenge Map pack is available right now to add onto your copy of Batman: Arkham Origins on the PC, Xbox 360, Wii U or PS3. It’ll cost you $6.99 USD.
