Wolfenstein: Youngblood launch trailer loads up

Get ready for double the Blazkowicz with the release of Bethesda’s Wolfenstein: Youngblood. Actually, maybe make that triple…

Back in action

That was, of course, the launch trailer for Wolfenstein: Youngblood. Set in an alternate 1980s, Youngblood picks up quite a bit after the class of The New Colossus. As a result, the world is a much different place. The menace of the Nazi regime however, remains in Europe.

Till now, we had only seen that original hero B.J. had disappeared somewhere in that controlled territory. As you can still see above, the gameplay centers on B.J.’s daughters Jess and Soph, as they suit up to find their dad.

Now though, it looks like they do indeed find him. That asks an interesting question. Youngblood is a co-op game at heart, with the twin Blazkowicz girls as playables.

But could players unlock a third playable character at some point? Though it’s just a guess, it seems possible from the last moments of the video. Either way, Youngblood is looking like it could be a suitable followup to the sequel. And co-op is a first for the series too.

While the game launches this Friday on the Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch, there’s still time to pre-order and rack up some bonuses for yourself.

  • If you do pre-order a copy, here’s what you’ll get:
  • The Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Jacket Power Suit
  • B.J.’s US Army Power Suit
  • The Wolfenstein: Old Blood Pipe
  • The Wolfenstein: Old Blood Knife
  • A WW2 Weapon Skin Set for all ranged weapons
