Line of Defense brings the future world of 3000AD’s comics to PC’s today

Based on the MMO of the same name, Line of Defense Tactics looks to give players a tactical look at real-tie combat set in publisher 3000AD’s popular comic book universe.

So this is a pretty cool one. I don’t even know much about the original comic that Line of Defense Tactics is based on (and I know even less about the MMO), but an RTS where you fight ship-to-ship, inside enemy bases and on the open battlefield sounds pretty nifty.

Gameplay breaks down like this- you get a team of four battle-hardened soldiers working for GALCOM and must guide those troopers through real-time, tactical combat scenarios based on the Line of Defense comic book. Your squad is consistent and will progress with you throughout the campaign which is also pretty cool as these aren’t ‘cannon fodder’ throwaways we’re talking about here. And also, as I mentioned above, you get three distinctly different types of fighting with spaceship battles and both inside and outside planetary-based combat coming into play.

Gameplay also encompasses things like airstrikes, driving vehicles and more; all with a tactical bent. You’ll even have access to the already established MMO’s unit and equipment database, which is pretty cool too I’d imagine for fans of the fiction. There’s a lot to this one and, if it controls well, Line of Defense Tactics might be a nice little surprise for jaded war-gamers looking for something a little different in their morning napalm.

Look for it on the PC and Mac as well as Amazon, iOS and Android platforms now from 3000AD.
