E3: Telltale announces The Walking Dead 400 Days

The add-on episode for ‘season 1’ of Telltale’s excellent The Walking Dead adventure game is coming soon.

Now, technically, this isn’t a sequel- it’s an add-on for the critically acclaimed (count us in on that one too) season one that we all know and love. It’s kind of a full season unto itself too as 400 Days consists of five mini-episodes all strung together to make an overarching plot.

The Walking Dead: 400 Days chronicles the horrific aftermath of the undead outbreak through the eyes of five new characters as they struggle to survive the first 400 days of the apocalypse. Playable in any order, the five connected short stories are centered in and around a Georgia truck stop, where players will be thrust into horrifying situations that will test their morals and control the flow of the story through their decisions and actions.

If 400 Days is anything at all like the rest of the first season of Telltale’s The Walking Dead, then fans will definitely be in for a meaty treat. And you’ll need to have at least the first episode of that first season installed on your device of choice to play 400 Days as it isn’t really a standalone game. Honestly, if you don’t have it, get it- these games are great.

And if you’re a more mobile minded gamer who’s somehow avoided playing one of the very best games of 2012, you should be very happy to learn that the entirety of season 1 (including 400 Days) has officially been announced for the PS Vita. So now you can make morally ambiguous decisions and stab zombies in the eye from the back seat of a car of on the train on the way to work. Progress!
