Developer Rogue Factor’s adaptation of the Warhammer tabletop game is looking like it might offer strategy gamer’s an interesting take on Games Workshop’s dark fantasy world.
I’ve become a big fan of turn-based strategy title in the last few years, with so many solid to great ones hitting the PC. One rarity in the genre (or in any genre really) is to see Games Workshop’s original Warhammer universe making an appearance.
Usually, titles based on GW’s properties tend to be of the 40K variety, so when you see a classic, medieval-based Warhammer title, it’s worth getting excited about. When it looks as good as Mordheim does, it’s even more so. From the gameplay video above, it certainly seems like this newest Warhammer title will have some significant strategic depth, and feature a bunch of the series’ races in its clan-based warfare.
I know I’m a big fan of the sword and sorcery side of what the tabletop game-maker has created, so I’m crossing my fingers on this one. Mordheim: City of the Damned should be hitting PC’s in Steam Early Access form with both the Human Mercenaries from the Empire, and the Skaven from Clan Eshin available to play as.
