Good news for the indie developer The Molasses Flood. Their Kickstarter for The Flame in the Flood met its goal today with twenty-three days left. With this big news the developers have added stretch goals to meet some desired features, such as translations for other languages as well as a possible development for PS4 release if a $300,000 mark is met. They are keeping their goals relatively modest with each level of stretch funding in order to focus on the ultimate goal of releasing their much anticipated game.
For those who haven’t heard of The Flame in the Flood, it is a survival roguelike narrative set in a Post-Apocalyptic America. The player controls Scout, the heroine of the game, as she faces harsh environments and conditions with her dog while navigating the river to safety. Game Informer wrote an in-depth article covering the creation of the team as well as the game.
The Molasses Flood was created following the dissolution of Irrational Games earlier this year with many of the developers and creators from such great games as Bioshock, Halo, Guitar Hero, and Rock Band. With such talented people, one can only imagine the great games this team will put out.
