Rockefeller Center in NYC is still a little ways off from being lit up for the Holidays, but Nintendo had their own big show this past Friday night as the company welcomed Super Mario 3D World, A Link Between Worlds and Mario Party Island Tour onto the market.
Nintendo’s flagship store was open into the late hours of Friday night/Saturday morning to herald the arrival of the three games, which are pretty big time titles and uber-important to the company’s Holiday lineup. With a line forming early in the evening and crowds lasting through most of the night, Nintendo had a great group of fans on hand for the event and I doubt they walked away disappointed.
With Super Mario 3D World already racking up a perfect score of 10.0 from us and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (review incoming) and Mario Party also getting some great buzz, it certainly seems like the big three games from the publisher are every bit the winners that fans were hoping for. You can check out some pics from the event below (including some of artist Chris Carlson’s Zelda work) and see how things went down. If you’d like to pick up any of the games that just saw release, all three are available now with the 3DS getting The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and Mario Party Island Tour and the Wii U playing host to a possible GotY contender in Super Mario 3D World.
