With electrodes attached to their arm muscles, Alta High School Juniors Nick Aluarez, right, and Justin Jeffries, ‘Virtual Arm Wrestle’ at the University of Utah Saturday, February 14, 2009. Using a technique called Electromyography, the electrodes were evaluating and recording the activation signal of muscles. An electromyograph detects the electrical potential generated by muscle cells when these cells contract, and also when the cells are at rest.
