The Cold War is over, and Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is ready for its launch trailer

Activision dropped an action packed launch trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 today, complete with all the 90s trappings.

New era, same wars

It’s the end of the Cold War, and the world is settling into a new kind of era. In this one, the United States stands alone as the planet’s lone superpower, and her enemies are both many and mysterious. It’s been said that the demise of Soviet Russia led to a new and fractured power base, and that’s on display in the launch trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Following up on Black Ops Cold War, the new game takes place in the 1990s, and it looks like it’s set to plop its players right in the midst of the first Iraq war. That means desert warfare, Saddam Hussein, and a new bio-weapon that might be making its way into the hands of some very undesirable people.

It also means more of Call of Duty’s signature gunplay, though this time that’s highlighted by omnimovement. A new system of traversal, omnimovement will hopefully give players some new tactical options, as they make their way through the campaign, the multiplayer suite, and of course, the zombies mode.

Ready to go dark once again? Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 hits Xbox, PlayStation, and PC this month, on October 26th.
