Hail to the King, Evil Dead: The Game’s latest update has arrived

Crashing into the horror-fueled action of Evil Dead: The Game is a brand new content pack dubbed Hail to the King. It’s out today for all platforms.

Gimme some sugar

Are you a fan of Army of Darkness? That’s a silly question I guess, because who isn’t? Well, if you are, you’re going to seriously dig what Saber Interactive has cooked up for the latest addition to Evil Dead: The Game.

Hail to the King is loaded with AoD action, including a few slick new outfits for the game’s heroes, a new solo quest, a new playable character, and some new Deadite-smashing weapons.

Inspired by the iconic horror, humor and action of the Evil Dead franchise, Evil Dead: The Game brings the series’ biggest names together in a pulse-pounding battle with the forces of darkness. Work as a team of four Survivors to kick Deadite butt and banish the vile Kandarian Demon – or become the Demon yourself, using its powers of possession to stop the good guys dead and swallow their souls! Choose your squad with fan-favorite characters from every era in the series, and battle with a wide variety of weapons to survive the night in multiplayer and bonus single-player missions.

Saber Interactive press release

As you can see above, Hail to the King adds in a good deal of new stuff for Evil Dead. Not the least of those is the Blacksmith. This new playable hero is a “hybrid support hero with some warrior characteristics”. If you’re into melee combat, he’s your man, but is completely unable to use ranged weapons.

Along with him, there’s also a new solo adventure opening up. That will see a rift open over in medieval England, that’ll be overflowing with undead foes. It’ll need the one and only Henry the Red to close it, and put the wicked Kandar’s Witch down for good.

In addition to all of that, there’s also the rapid-fire crossbow and quarterstaff to wield, and five bonus outfits. One of those is a special Halloween suit for Ash too, which if you watched the above, you already know is a bit devilish.

Evil Dead: The Game, and Hail to the King, are both out now for Xbox and PlayStation platforms, as well as the PC (via Epic).
