Assassin’s Creed III Remastered out now

Ubisoft’s remaster of Assassin’s Creed III has arrived for most platforms, and looks great. Check out the gameplay in action in the launch trailer.

The revolutionary assassin returns

I played very little of ACIII when it originally released. But I’ll say that that looks night and day different from what I remember. With the graphical updating too, the third numbered Assassin’s Creed title might have become one of the best.

Experience the Assassin’s Creed universe on the eve of the American Revolution and play as Connor, the warrior son of a Native American mother and British father. As the bloody revolution draws near, your clan is threatened by a powerful group seeking to crush the American Revolution and control the thirteen colonies. After the devastation of your village, you pledge your life to preserve freedom. Unleash your deadly skills in a decades-long quest that will take you from the chaotic city streets to blood-soaked battlefields in the hostile American wilderness and beyond. Explore colonial Boston, New York, the frontier and various epic naval missions, meeting legendary American heroes as you conspire to annihilate all those who threaten Liberty.

Ubisoft press release

The setting is undeniably cool, playing out against the backdrop of the American revolution. And the mixture of colonial war-era towns and forested areas to play in seem like they should make for a unique AC title.

Assassin’s Creed III Remastered includes both ACIII and it’s spinoff, Liberation. That one’s also gotten the Remastered treatment, as you saw in the trailer, and also is looking awesome.

The game is out now for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC, and hits the Switch on May 21st.
