Insane driving, wild gunplay, and a world that’s coming back to life thirty years after the original, Rage 2 is looking great.
EnRaged again
There’s a nice extended look at Rage 2’s gameplay, courtesy of QuakeCon today. And I have to say, I’m pretty impressed. I liked the original game just fine, but this sequel is looking like a vast improvement in every way. Not to mention that it somehow manages to feel both more and less like a Mad Max clone. I’m not sure how they managed that one.
Driving action, along with crazy Fury Road-style rigs, and remnants of the world that came before are all still here. It all looks incredible too, with way more detail and color than Rage 1 ever had. But while all of that is pretty Max-y, the rest is definitely not.
Super-powers, sci-fi weaponry and enemies, mutants, and resurgent civilization(s) all work to make sure the world of Rage is its own thing.
I wasn’t sold originally, not really. This look at the gameplay though, has me more than a little interested to get into the world of iD’s Rage once again. I kind of can’t wait for Spring of next year, when Rage 2 finally lands on consoles and the PC.
