CES ’25: Razer intro’s its thinnest laptop yet and much more

It’s been a packed CES for Razer, as the company has revealed a new slate of offerings that includes the impressive Razer Blade 16.

Gaming to go

PC game fans should be familiar with Razer, as the company has one of the best-known lines of gaming computers and peripherals on the market. With a history that dates back to the late-90s and the Boomslang gaming mouse (which is coming back by the way), it’s a brand that seems to keep raising the bar, with both accessories and gaming platforms.

Here at CES 2025, Razer has debuted a number of new devices, not the least of which is the Razer Blade 16. Touted as the “thinnest and most powerful in its lineage”, the Blade 16 is a gaming laptop that certainly looks as though it accentuates both form and function. That’s because, even though it’s the company’s thinnest gaming PC ever, this laptop isn’t just good looks.

The unit can be stocked with some beastly components, including Nvidia’s just-announced RTX 5090 graphics card. That’s not all either, as enthusiasts can also add in AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 Processor.

Details? We’ve got details:

The Thinnest Razer Gaming Laptop Ever: Redesigned for superior mobility, the new Blade is up to 32% thinner[1] than the previous generation and sports a new keyboard with an improved 1.5mm travel, for 50% more travel and an overall more enjoyable typing experience.

Up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU: Powered by NVIDIA Blackwell, GeForce RTX™ 50 Series GPUs bring game-changing capabilities to gamers and creators. Equipped with a massive level of AI horsepower, the RTX 50 Series enables new experiences and next-level graphics fidelity. Multiply performance with NVIDIA DLSS 4, generate images at unprecedented speed, and unleash creativity with NVIDIA Studio. Plus, access NVIDIA NIM microservices – state-of-the-art AI models that let enthusiasts and developers build AI assistants, agents, and workflows with peak performance on NIM-ready systems.

Up to AMD Ryzen™ AI 9 HX 370 Processor: For the first time ever, Blade 16 will feature AMD Ryzen™ AI processors, offering excellent performance and efficiency when working or gaming and powerful AMD Ryzen AI to accelerate AI-enabled applications.
QHD+ 240Hz OLED Display: Experience sharp visuals and a high refresh rate with the ultra-fast 16-inch display. Capable of achieving an ultra-low 0.2ms response time, visuals look crisp and clear even in motion.

The Blade Advantage: Precision milled from a single block of aluminum to form a rigid unibody chassis, anodized to provide greater resilience against the elements and fitted with a bespoke vapor chamber cooling solution to provide superior cooling in an ultra-thin form.

Razer press release

The Razer Blade 16 is set to be available this quarter, landing at Razer.com, RazerStores, and via “Authorized Retailers”. Pricing is, of course, dependent on what you pack into it, but if you’re looking to fully kit one out, expect a hefty cost to accompany it.

Looking to the future

As mentioned, the Blade 16 is centerpiece of what was an otherwise loaded CES 2025 for Razer. There was a bevy of additional stuff that was revealed, and will be on shelves some time soon. The list includes both traditional hardware like lightbars and docks, as well as some items that just have the company’s name written all over them.

Fans can soon look for:

…immersive Razer Aether Standing Light Bars, the sleek Razer Monitor Stand Chroma, Razer Handheld Dock Chroma, a new Razer HyperBoost feature for the Razer Laptop Cooling Pad, and the intuitive new Razer PC Remote Play feature for the Razer Kishi Ultra.

There was one more thing too, and it’ll have you taking a seat. Yes, it’s a new gaming chair, but if you’re looking for things that only Razer would bring to market, it should have you covered. That’s because the upcoming “Project Arielle” will include both heating and cooling via a built-in touch panel.

Integrated Bladeless Fan System: Building on the exceptional breathability of our flagship mesh gaming chair, the Razer Fujin Pro, Project Arielle’s integrated fan system ensures efficient power output, delivering smooth and continuous full-body airflow while keeping noise levels as soft as a whisper.

On-Demand Cooling: With three adjustable fan speeds for personalized cooling, Project Arielle’s airflow enhances heat dissipation and can reduce the perceived temperature by 2°C to 5°C in dry environments, perfect for those in hotter climates.

On-Demand Heating: Additionally, Project Arielle is equipped with an advanced built-in heating system featuring energy-efficient PTC heaters that deliver up to 30°C of warm air, allowing gamers to enjoy reliable warmth even in the chilliest winter.

Touch Panel Control: Easily accessible controls for adjusting temperature settings on the fly, with a quick release connection system to keep the power cable secure.

No word on pricing just yet for Arielle, but keep watching Razer.com for updates.
