If you missed the news, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has been delayed again, nudged to November

You may have missed the news in the SDCC hoopla last week, we did. But either way, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has been delayed again.

Hunting for a new release date

We completely blanked on this one, as we were seriously wrapped up in all the Comic Con news last week. Since it’s such a huge game though, we can’t let another delay to the Xbox exclusive S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 go by without reporting on it. Now granted, this latest delay isn’t the lengthiest of things, but with a game that’s been as long-awaited as this one, it’s notable.

Most lately meant to launch in September, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has been in the works for a long time, though some of the delays are more than understandable. Don’t forget that developer GSC Game World is based in Ukraine, and as you are likely aware, that’s not the most stable part of the world at present.

Nevertheless, the game is looking incredible, and this latest push back is only until November 20th. From the sounds of it too, there’s a need.

“We know you might be tired of waiting, and we truly appreciate your patience. These two additional months will give us the chance to fix more “unexpected anomalies” (or simply “bugs”, as you call them). We are always grateful for your ongoing support and understanding – it means the world to us. We’re just as eager as you are to finally release the game and for you to experience it for yourself.”

Yevhen Grygorovych, Game Director at GSC Game World

Go deep with a dive

It’s not all disappointment this week though, as GSC Game World has followed-up S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2‘s delay with a new deep dive. That video, which will be landing on YouTube on August 12th, was created in collaboration with Xbox and will be packed with a whole bunch of never before seen stuff.

Set to be included will be:

  • Interviews and behind-the-scenes of the development process
  • Lots of new footage, including world overview, various locations, gameplay and cutscenes
  • A full video walkthrough of one of the story quests

Quiet a bit to look forward to there, so if you’re a long-waiting fan of the game, make sure to tune in.
