THQ Nordic press release
If you’re not familiar with Gothic, the original game was launched in 2001, and brought players to the world of Khorinis. A fantasy adventure, Gothic stocks some 50 hours of play, with loads of weapons and spells to make use of, three different factions to join, and what sounds like a pretty darn interesting character development system. Using it, players will upgrade their character by actually visiting “teachers that can be found in the world”. Even cooler is that Gothic reportedly features a “simulated living world where people go to work, sleep, eat and fight to survive”. How cool is that, for a game that’s over 20 years old?
Gothic II is even bigger and deeper still, building on the original release with 100 missions to engage with (depending on settings), over 500 individual characters with their own “daily routines”, and lots more. Lots to both of these bad boys, and either could be just the thing to while away some summertime hours.
As mentioned The Gothic Classic Khorinis Saga combines both of the above, and is out right now for the Switch.
