Hot Toys reveals its take on the Star Wars prequels’ Droidekas

Rolling out for a 2025 release from Hot Toys, is one of the Star Wars prequels most powerful droids, the Droideka.

Roll out

The Star Wars prequels had a few pretty great designs, especially where the Separatists droid army comes in. Maybe right at the top though, is the Droideka. A droid that can effectively transform from robot to a rolling wheel-like form for fast movement, Droidekas were equally as adept at dealing out laser blasts.

To date, we haven’t seen a version of the beefed up droids in Hot Toys’ 12″ scale collection, but that’s about to be seen to. The company just revealed its own take on the Droideka, and it’s looking just about as impressive as you’d think. Not only is this new figure made to fit in with the rest of the line, but it actually converts for some sweet ball-rollin’ action.

Check out the first look:

The deadly destroyer droids known as Droidekas were instrumental in the invasion of Naboo. Their innovative design allows them to roll into a ball to cover great distances swiftly, while their deflector shield generators offer protection while firing.

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace™, Hot Toys brings this dangerous droid to life in stunning detail with the Droideka™ 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure. Highly articulated, with a poseble head, blaster arms, and grasper legs, this impressive and highly-collectible action figure can also be transformed into the Droideka’s ball form. Standing at approximately 13 inches (33cm) tall, this meticulously crafted figure is intricately detailed with wired tubes and a weathered metallic copper finish.

Get ready for battle! Add the Droideka™ 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure by Hot Toys to your Star Wars™ collection. Available to pre-order now from Sideshow.

Sideshow press release

Hot Toys’ Droideka will be shipping out some time in quarter 1 or 2 of 2025, so there’s still some time before the bad-bot arrives. As you might expect, it is up for pre-order right now though, and you can secure one for yourself by hitting one of the Sideshow links above.

The Droideka is priced in at $265 USD.
