Peach-Mania is running wild, and Nintendo has released a look at both Princess Peach: Showtime! and some lovely new controllers.
Your royal highness
Although she’s in every Super Mario title, and has been playable in a few of them, Princess Peach herself has only starred in one game up to now. Of course, we say “up to now” because in just a few weeks time fans will be able to get their hands on Princess Peach: Showtime! for the Switch.
And naturally, leading up to that launch this March, Nintendo has started to ramp things up. That includes a brand new trailer showing off Princess Toadstool’s various suits/powers, and the reveal of a set of new joy-cons, crafted in the Princess’ signature pink colorway.
Players will battle enemies from the footlights to the rafters, taking on the role of a swordfighter, a detective, a kung fu master, a pâtissière and more. But this is no ordinary adventure – it’s going to take even more panache from Peach to bring this play to its triumphant final bow.
As Ninja Peach, she will call upon her sneaking abilities as she uses shadows, shrubbery and makeshift bamboo snorkels to surprise and thwart her enemies. On levels where you need to be a little more brash, Cowgirl Peach yee-haws into action. Her horseback-riding expertise is matched only by her deftness with a lasso, and you’ll need both to make sure Peach rides off into the sunset …or at least into the next scene.

Those who like to go all-in with their Nintendo first-party releases might be interested in the new color for the Switch’s joy-cons that are coming to coincide with the title’s launch. While they might be a little bit (or a lotta bit) of an acquired taste, there’s no denying that these new pads are perfectly fitting for Peach’s first solo outing in years.
The “pastel pink Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers” will be hitting shelves on March 22nd, which will be day and date with the game itself. Look for the set to be priced in at $79.99 USD, and keep in mind too that it will be available only via “select retailers” (including My Nintendo Store), according to Nintendo.
