Season two of THQ Nordic’s AEW: Fight Forever continues, with the release of a new tournament mode, and a selection of extras.
Fight For-ev-er
THQ Nordic and Yukes’ throwback-playing wrestling title AEW: Fight Forever has a new addition as a part of its second season of content, and it’s not a wrestler. Typically we’ve seen new grapplers included as a part of the game’s post-launch plan, but not this time around.
Instead, “Beat the Elite” has dropped, which serves up a new offline, single player mode. That would be a tournament, where the game will select 10 AEW wrestlers that players will have to battle their way through, to reach a match with a member of the title-stable. And if you’re unaware, that means “The Elite”.
In the highly competitive “Beat The Elite” mode, players face 10 randomly selected wrestlers from AEW’s world-class roster. The last fight will always be against one fighter from “The Elite” such as Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson and Adam “Hangman” Page. Winning all those matches will reward the player with different in-game cosmetic items, depending on the difficulty setting selected.
THQ Nordic press release
Priced in at $6.99 USD a’la carte, the mode is the last offering of 2023 for the game, and is available now on every platform outside of the Switch. Nintendo’s console will get the pack later this month however, on December 27h.
Also while this latest DLC solely includes the tournament mode, Beat the Elite is just a part of a second season. And that includes (overall) three new wrestlers, 37 new move-sets and 60 attire options in the creation suite, and the new Dynamite Arena.
