A slim week for new games on Switch brings fans parts 1 and 2 of the supernatural adventure Oxenfree, as well as a small assortment of other releases.

Summertime

It’s officially summertime (in the northern hemisphere anyway), and you know what that means. Notable new game releases are usually a little fewer and further between in the warmer months, and even though June was excellent and loaded with blockbusters, July looks to be shaping up to be as dull as it always is.

That definitely includes this week’s Nintendo Download, which is ‘thin’ to say the least. Although Oxenfree 2 launches for the console, there really isn’t anything else of note, and few other titles in general.

• OXENFREE II: Lost Signals – From Night School Studio and published by MWM Interactive, OXENFREE II: Lost Signals is a supernatural narrative adventure game about a researcher who stumbles upon ghostly happenings. Five years after the events of OXENFREE, Riley returns to her hometown of Camena to investigate mysterious radio frequency signals causing curious disturbances. OXENFREE II: Lost Signals comes to the Nintendo Switch system on July 12.
