Michael Keaton’s Batman returns for a new Hot Toys figure

Collectible maker Hot Toys brings the man himself back for another figure. He’s a little older, and his suit is definitely different, but he’s still Batman.

He’s Batman

As the DC movie universe converts from DCEU into DCU, “The Flash” seems like it’ll be playing a pivotal role. The upcoming film will see Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen bending time, as in the comics, and racing back decades into the past to prevent the death of his family.

And just like in the comics (Flashpoint in particular), Barry messes things up pretty bad by doing so. Setting differently the course of history, Flash completely changes the DC movie universe. And one of those alterations seems to involve the 1989 big screen Batman, played by Michael Keaton.

The details are still pretty fuzzy, and intentionally so since they are massive spoilers, but we do know that the fan favorite Dark Knight is back. And yes, he’s older and his costume is different, but he looks great nonetheless.

So of course, he’ll be making the leap from the silver screen to your collection, thanks to Hot Toys. The company has a terrific looking translation of Keaton’s latest Bat-look ready to roll for late next year.

Here’s a look:

The Batman (Modern Suit) 1/6 Scale Figure features two brand-new, hand-painted portraits — both of which are equipped with Hot Toys’ rolling eyeballs feature, allowing collectors to adjust the figure’s gaze. Fans can swap out the meticulously sculpted and ultra-realistic Bruce Wayne headsculpt for a cowled head, which includes interchangeable lower face plates to alter Batman’s expression.

Sideshow Toys press release

The “Modern Suit” Batman figure will feature two interchangeable capes, as well as “a line launcher, a Batarang, a remote, a bomb timer, and more”. He’s also set to have an “illuminated” display base. Although we don’t get a look at that in the press release, if you click through to Sideshow Toys’ listing though, you can see it in all its Bat-signaly glory.

Additionally, those who pick up a pre-order for the figure now, will get an added bonus in the form of that cowl that you see unmasked Batman holding in the gallery above. It’s only being included as a limited-time item however, and once supplies run out (and we have no idea how many they have), that’s it. So if you want one, get that pre-order in sooner than later.

Batman in his Modern Suit is set to release some time in the second half of 2024, and is priced in at $305 USD. You can nab a pre-order from Sideshow here.
