Marvel’s coolest variant series yet? Check out these homage covers

Maybe the neatest cadre of variant covers yet from Marvel, is heading towards a January release with some reimagined classics.

The stage of history

Whatever you’re feelings are about modern Marvel, there’s little doubt that the publisher has been at the forefront of comics for a long time. And in those decades passed, Marvel has brought some of the most memorable tales to stands, that have ever hit a printed page. So with that in mind, comes Marvel’s latest variant cover slate. And even if you’re a ‘variant’ hater, you might seriously dig these.

In all, a series of 25 covers will land in stores this January, all of them paying homage to iconic Marvel covers from the past. These aren’t straight recreations though, as each one will feature the depicted Marvel heroes in their current garb.

So yeah, you get that iconic Wolverine cover, but Logan is decked out in his contemporary costume. All in all, it’s a pretty great looking lineup. Check out a good chunk of ’em in the gallery below.
