The Fantastic Four are back. Marvel Comics’ first family is getting another new run, and kicking off in style with a set of covers from J. Scott Campbell.
Fantastic
Yes it’s yet another run of Fantastic Four, and Marvel Comics is planning a big start for series number eight billion (or whatever we’re up to). And that’s in terms of both talent and plot.
When this new era dawns for one of Marvel’s most iconic super-teams, it’ll find the FF scattered to the four winds. Now, I know you’re probably wondering what makes this time any different from the hundred or so storylines this has happened in already, and I have no answer for you.
All Marvel has sent along to preview the new tale of daring do is the following:
Celebrating 60 years of epic super hero adventures and unmatched scifi storytelling, Campebll’s latest anniversary covers are just in time for the Fantastic Four’s new era by writer Ryan North and artist Iban Coello! The team’s new ongoing will begin with Marvel’s First Family going their separate ways after a mysterious incident takes place in New York City. As they find their way back to eachother, the question on every fan’s mind will be “Whatever happened to the Fantastic Four?”

Well, maybe there’s one more thing they sent, and it’s word that superstar artist J. Scott Campbell will be providing the cover. Campbell will be serving up two different flavors of the same image, with one stark difference: the coloring.
One of the images will have modern coloring and tech behind it, while the other will look like it might’ve come off the press in a decade gone by. Honestly, I prefer the latter. It’s just more comic-y, and it has that excellently old school Marvel logo.
Both issues will land on the same day and date though, as you might’ve assumed, showing up on the racks this November the 9th.
Update:
Here’s some more about the new FF book, including a short preview we just got in:
Something terrible has happened to the Fantastic Four and the Thing and Alicia are traveling across America to leave it behind! But when they stop in a small town for the night and wake up the morning before they arrived, they find themselves caught in a time loop that’s been going on since before they were born… That’s been going on since before they were born… That’s been going on since before they were born…
