G.I. Joe is about to get “Ultimate”. Toymaker Super7 has just revealed a 7″ lineup of action figures, based on the designs from the original cartoon.
Cobraaaaaa
Wow is Super7 killing it or what lately? The company produces figures and more in a few different scales, but the Ultimate line is some of the best stuff on the market. And between TMNT, Silverhawks, Transformers, Thundercats and all the odd-figures-out, they have an incredible selection too. Well now you can add one more – G.I. Joe.
The company just took the wraps off of a brand new collection, with G.I. Joe Ultimates. The 7″ line looks to feature all of the “Ultimate” pluses that you’d expect, with articulation, accessories, and paint apps. They’re set to be the most unique Joes out there today too, since they’ll be modeled to look like the designs from the original cartoon.
Hasbro currently has a series of 6″ Joes that sport updated looks, as well as a classically-styled line of 3.75″ Joes. But these new figures will be faithful to the original 80s cartoon’s looks, with some original action figure influence. More or less, the sculpts will be the former, while some of the accessories will reflect the latter.
As you can see, wave 1 gets things off right. Heavy-hitter ‘leaders’ Duke and Cobra Commander are included, as well as the iconic Snake-Eyes, and a Cobra Battle Android Trooper. Classic, not to mention fan-favorite, stuff all around.
And of course, all figures will feature that awesome Ultimates packaging too. For those unfamiliar, the boxes feature slip-covers and are very collector-friendly. That means you can open ’em up and close ’em again with minimal fuss and no damage.
Each figure is priced in at $54.99 USD, and the entire first wave is set to ship in about a year (July 2022). Along with the reveal too, we have pre-order going live today, including from our pals at Entertainment Earth. You can find them, and the newly announced 3.75″ ReAction Joe line, here.
