Storm Ground brings Warhammer’s Age of Sigmar to PC and console in May

Turn-based, strategic action returns to the Warhammer world next month, as Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground arrives for PC and console.

An age of heroes

Does a month go by without a Warhammer game seeing release? It kind of feels like it’s a regular occurrence at this point, with the Game Workshop license being an industry darling as of late. As they go though, Storm Ground is looking pretty sharp.

Adapting the brand new Age of Sigmar era from the tabletop game, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground comes from Focus Home, and developer Gasket Games. Turn-based strategy is the genre, but this one’s also a rogue-like. So the play will be different every time you engage the title’s single-player campaign.

There’s also multiplayer to be had in Storm Ground though. Online PvP is present and ready to roll, and will net players “new cards granting new units, skills, weapons and gear to strengthen your armies and let you define your own style of conquest.” That, according to the press release.

As for which armies you’ll be fielding in the game, they’re not the typical Warhammer offerings. Players will take to the field as “the eternal Stormcasts, the ghoulish Nighthaunt and the rotting Maggotkin”. Kind of different there.

Ready to dig into the all-new Warhammer world? You won’t have long to wait, as Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground is set to arrive on the PC, as well as the PS4, Xbox One, and Switch on May 27th.
