The Modern Warfare name and brand isn’t the only thing returning to Call of Duty. Spec Ops is back too, and looking better than ever.

Spec Ops is most definitely back, though it’s a little different than you might remember. This time around, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s popular multiplayer variation will be “reimagined”.
I wouldn’t get too upset at the mention of that word though, since the mode sounds and looks great.
Special Ops, one of Call of Duty’s most-beloved game modes, is available on all platforms when Modern Warfare launches on October 25. Reimagined as a collection of expansive, interconnected Operations against a new and encroaching threat, players will assemble into strike-teams of four to execute multi-phased objectives, which together will advance the overarching story of Modern Warfare.

So there’s a little more to it, and Spec Ops seems like it’ll be a little larger as well. It seems like it might tie into the game’s main story (from the campaign), which is pretty cool. Can’t find too much fault with that really. You can read much more about Spec Ops here, on Activision’s Call of Duty blog.
There’s not too much more time before all of this hits retail either. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s release date is coming up fast, and it’ll land on consoles and the PC on October 25th.
