Available for those who pre-ordered a digital copy, Fantastic Four #6 will offer a special, digital-only limited “Director’s Cut” edition.
Director on the set
Director’s Cut editions are pretty common when you’re talking about movies. For some time we’ve seen DVDs and Blu Ray’s marketed with them as special editions. Basically, a Director’s Cut is meant to bring viewers a truer form of the story, more in line with what the actual director wanted.
Now we’re seeing Marvel Comics get into the act with a Director’s Cut of Fantastic Four. The 6th issue of the new series is available now and introduces Victorious. That’s the Herald of Doom, so it’s kind of a big deal. The book also showcases a battle between the Latverian monarch and Galactus himself however. Some pretty cool stuff honestly.
Who is VICTORIOUS? In Fantastic Four (2018) #6, Galactus returns to devour the Earth…and only one man can save us: DOCTOR DOOM!? But where is that agitator, Reed Richards and his meddlesome family? What are they doing? Turns out, they’re locked in battle against the brave new hero of the Latverian people, VICTORIOUS! Powerhouse talents Dan Slott (AMAZING SPIDER-MAN) and Aaron Kuder (ALL-NEW GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY) introduce us to the new Herald of Doom! And, for a limited time, you can get a behind-the-scenes peek at their creation!

Marvel Comics press release
Is that really a Director’s Cut, in the purest form of the term? Eh, kinda sorta I guess. Either way, it’s cool to get all that added content, even if it is digital. If you do want it, make sure you pre-order your copy from the Marvel or the comiXology app before the 29th of this month, at 11:59pm Eastern time. That’s the cutoff.
